Sorting recyclables gets an efficiency and cleanliness overhaul with this 16-gallon sensor-operated recycle bin from iTouchless. Made from stainless steel for durability, the unit features two side-by-side interior compartments with independent lids so you can toss trash and collect recyclables in one spot or sort out glass items separately. Infrared sensors trigger the lids to open if a hand or other object is within approximately 6 inches, and it stays open as long as the sensor detects an object. Three seconds after the area is clear, the lid closes itself. This design feels fun and contemporary, while simultaneously minimizing germ transfer and increasing efficiency in a busy kitchen.
Other features include side handles, optional manual operation, a power switch on the back of the bin, and four casters for easy movement. Sized to fit 8- or 13-gallon trash bags, the compartments also feature removable plastic interiors that can be used on their own. Measuring 23 by 25 by 13-1/2 inches, the bin runs on an AC adaptor or four D batteries, which are not included.

Simply place your hand or debris about 6 inches away from the infrared sensor on top of the trash can and the lid will open automatically. The lid will remain open if debris or your hand is within the 6 inch range of the infrared sensor. It will close automatically 3 seconds after debris has been released and your hand moves away. There are two buttons to open and close the lid manually, and an on/off switch on the back of the trash can. Fits any regular 8 or 13 gallon trash bag in each compartment, or just used the included 2 inner plastic buckets.
